The client

Cariherb is bridging tradition and technology. Founded by university students in Surabaya, the app simplifies plant identification: users scan a plant and learn its benefits and recipes immediately, using machine learning. It is opening up Indonesia's herbal heritage to people who would otherwise have no route into it.

What we did

The brief pulled in two directions — the product is genuinely technical, but the subject is centuries old, and leaning too far either way would have misrepresented it. We built a visual identity that holds both: a sleek geometric logo for the technology, balanced by a semi-serif typeface and intricate patterns for the heritage. Modern enough to be trusted as software, rooted enough to be trusted about plants.
